Beyerskloof Pinotage Reserve is a premium expression of South Africa’s signature grape, showcasing the concentration, smoothness, and elegance that Stellenbosch Pinotage is celebrated for. This wine highlights the mastery of winemaker Anri Truter and the region’s exceptional terroir. Vineyard & Terroir Sourced from Stellenbosch vineyards, the grapes benefit from ideal winter rainfall and carefully managed vineyards, ensuring balanced vine growth and evenly ripened fruit. The combination of climate, soils, and meticulous vineyard practices contributes to the wine’s depth, structure, and intensity. Winemaking & Ageing The grapes are hand-harvested and fermented in open casks, with the cap gently punched every two hours to extract rich colour, flavour, and structure. Following malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged for 14 months in second and third-fill barrels, allowing delicate cedar oak notes to integrate while preserving the pure fruit character. Tasting Notes A deep, intense red, Beyerskloof Pinotage Reserve offers rich black fruit flavours complemented by subtle cedar and spice from barrel maturation. The palate is well-balanced, structured, and smooth, with a long, juicy finish. This wine is approachable on release yet has excellent ageing potential of up to 10 years.
