Domaine Vacheron Sancerre Blanc is a precise and expressive Sauvignon Blanc crafted from vineyards rooted in the flinty silex and limestone soils that define the Sancerre appellation. Sitting at around 300 metres above sea level, the 30–50-year-old vines draw complexity and minerality from the terroir, creating a wine that is both elegant and full of energy. The wine is fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged for four months in stainless steel tanks to preserve purity and freshness, resulting in a harmonious balance of fruit, texture, and mineral tension. Meet the producer Over 120 years ago, Maurice Vacheron laid the foundation of this esteemed domaine with just one hectare of vineyard. Four generations later, cousins Jean-Laurent and Jean-Dominique Vacheron continue the family legacy, guiding the estate to become one of Sancerre’s most respected producers. Certified biodynamic since 2005, Domaine Vacheron cultivates its vines with a Burgundian sensibility—vinifying by parcel to express the character of each terroir. No synthetic chemicals are used, and only natural compost enriches the soils. All fruit is hand-harvested, yields are kept low, and the wines are bottled unfiltered and unfined, following the lunar cycle. Production The grapes for this Sancerre Blanc are sourced from the domaine’s vineyards across both hard flint ( silex ) and softer limestone-marl soils. These two terroirs are vinified separately before blending, ensuring depth and balance. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks, maintaining varietal purity and preserving the distinctive mineral character.
