The Beaujolais region, nestled in the south of Burgundy, is home to ten celebrated Crus, with Fleurie widely regarded as the most harmonious and elegant among them. The ‘La Verchère’ cuvée is a pure expression of this terroir, crafted from vineyards rooted in pink granite soils that lend finesse and aromatic lift to the wine. Viticulture The Fleurie appellation spans 840 hectares, with ‘La Verchère’ sourced from sandy granitic soils that contribute to the wine’s delicate structure and floral character. The vineyard’s elevation and exposure allow for optimal ripening, while the granite base ensures excellent drainage and mineral complexity. Winemaking Grapes are manually harvested at peak maturity to preserve freshness and purity. After maceration, the fermented grapes are gently pressed and aged in vat, maintaining the wine’s vibrant fruit profile and elegant texture. Tasting Note Aromas of peony, faded rose, strawberry, and blackcurrant. The palate is balanced and silky, with smooth tannins and a refined, delicate finish. Best enjoyed between 3 to 5 years of age. Food Matching Serve between 13–15°C in fine glassware. Pairs beautifully with roasted lamb, poultry, white meats, and classic Lyonnais charcuterie such as saucisson or delicatessen fare.
