About this wine

Ruby Dum from Niepoort is a vibrant, youthful Port wine from the Douro Valley in Portugal. Known as the “twin” of Tawny Dee, Ruby Dum retains a fresh, lively character dominated by red cherries and plums. The wine is aged in large wooden vats in the cool cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia, preserving its freshness and bright fruit expression. Meet the producer Niepoort, a historic family-owned producer in the Douro and Porto regions, is celebrated for crafting Ports and Douro wines that combine elegance, concentration, and a true sense of place. Production Sourced from low-yielding, old vineyards in the Cima Corgo region, the grapes are predominantly trodden in traditional Lagares before ageing in large wooden vats in the Gaia lodges. Ruby Dum is bottled with an average age of three years, retaining its youthful vibrancy. Tasting notes Ruby Dum shows a dark red colour and a fresh, vibrant aroma of dark fruits. On the palate, the wine offers an almost mineral character, good extract, and excellent balance. It is a youthful, approachable Port with superb drinkability, ready to enjoy now.
