About this wine

Prieur de Meyney is the elegant second wine of Château Meyney, one of the oldest estates in the Saint-Estèphe appellation. Created to reflect the estate’s commitment to quality and terroir, the wine offers a refined expression of Médoc character while remaining approachable and balanced. Vineyards The estate’s 51 hectares lie in a single parcel on silica-graveled soils overlooking the Garonne River. Vines average 40 years of age, producing concentrated, expressive grapes. Sustainable viticulture practices have been applied since 2006, promoting biodiversity and soil health. Winemaking Grapes are hand-harvested with optical selection and vinified using classic methods in stainless steel vats or thermoregulated concrete tanks. The wine is aged 16–18 months in oak barrels, 15% of which are new, ensuring integration of subtle oak notes while preserving the purity of the fruit. The winemaking process is overseen by Hubert de Boüard, owner of Château Angélus, ensuring expertise and finesse. Tasting Notes Prieur de Meyney delivers a refined expression of Saint-Estèphe, combining ripe fruit, structured tannins, and a harmonious balance of elegance and depth. It showcases Médoc’s classic red fruit and cassis aromas with a smooth, persistent finish. Enjoy with Ideal with roasted red meats, grilled game, and mature cheeses. Grape Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot
