Milagres Alvarinho is a refined expression of the Alvarinho grape, grown in the historical Quinta da Pedra estate in Monção and Melgaço, the heart of Portugal’s Vinho Verde region. Planted on pure granite soils with gentle slopes for optimal drainage and sun exposure, the vineyard’s unique terroir gives the wine remarkable freshness, minerality, and aromatic intensity. Hand-harvested grapes undergo gentle pressing and pre-fermentation maceration, followed by fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperatures. The wine then completes part of its fermentation in very old French oak barrels (+10 years), with bâtonnage for the first six months and occasional malolactic fermentation. After 12 months in barrel, the wine is transferred to stainless steel, fined, filtered, and aged in bottle for 2–3 years prior to release. Meet the producer Quinta da Pedra dates back to the 17th century and is one of the most historical properties in the Alto Minho region. Its 53-hectare estate is completely dry farmed, combining centuries-old tradition with careful vineyard management to produce exceptional Alvarinho wines. Production Grapes are hand-picked and gently pressed, with fermentation initially in stainless steel tanks and partially in old French oak barrels. The wine is stirred regularly (bâtonnage) during barrel ageing, and after 12 months, it is transferred back to stainless steel for clarification, filtration, and bottling. Bottle ageing for 2–3 years ensures balance and complexity before release. Tasting notes Pale straw in colour with brilliant clarity. The nose is aromatic and expressive, revealing citrus, white flowers, and stone fruit notes. On the palate, the wine is fresh, mineral-driven, and textured, with vibrant acidity and a long, elegant finish. Food match Serve between 7–8°C. Ideal with seafood, shellfish, salads, light white meats, or enjoyed on its own as a refined aperitif.
