Rust en Vrede Estate Wine is a full-bodied red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Merlot. The nose offers dense aromas of dark chocolate, black currant, black cherries, and sandalwood. The palate opens with sweet fruit, followed by layers of Black Forest gateaux, cedar, baking spices, and toast. Fine-grained but grippy tannins and fresh acidity provide structure, while spicy blackberry compote lingers on the finish. Blend composition: 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Syrah, 8% Merlot. Vineyard & Terroir Estate-grown grapes from Stellenbosch, carefully hand-picked and sorted to preserve individual vineyard characteristics. Winemaking Each variety and parcel is vinified separately. Grapes undergo destemming, crushing, and open-top fermentation with a 21-day maceration period and daily pump-overs/punch-downs. Maturation occurs in 100% French oak barrels (40% new) for 22 months.
