Casa Ferreirinha Vinha Grande Douro Tinto is a refined and expressive red blend that embodies the essence of the Douro Valley's diverse terroirs and winemaking tradition. Crafted under the direction of winemaker Luís Sottomayor, this wine reflects the house's hallmark balance of elegance, freshness and depth—delivering an authentic expression of the Douro's complexity and charm. Soils are predominantly schist, a slate-like rock that fractures vertically, allowing vines to root deeply in search of water and minerals. Vinification takes place at the state-of-the-art wineries of Quinta do Seixo and Quinta da Leda. Grapes are destemmed and gently crushed before fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to ensure precise extraction of colour, tannins and aromatics. The wine is then matured in used French oak barrels for around 12 months, enhancing complexity and texture while preserving the purity of the fruit. Tasting Notes This elegant Douro red displays a ruby red colour. The nose opens with expressive aromas of raspberry, blackberry and wild cherry, intertwined with hints of cedar, s
