Château Castelbruck is the second wine of Château Haut Breton Larigaudière, a prestigious 15-hectare Margaux estate located between Soussans and Arsac. Owned by the Schepper family since the 1960s, the vineyards are planted on a mix of deep gravel, sand, and clay soils—classic terroir for producing elegant and ageworthy Bordeaux. The estate is HVE certified and farmed sustainably, reflecting its commitment to responsible viticulture. Production After a cold maceration, fermentation takes place in both concrete and stainless steel tanks to preserve purity and freshness. The wine is then aged in oak barrels, 25% of which are new, for 12 months, followed by an additional 8 months in stainless steel vats to integrate flavours and soften tannins. Tasting Notes Generous and brambley, this Margaux offers layers of dark plum, blackberry and herbal complexity. The nose is lifted by cedar-spiced oak that mellows beautifully if decanted. On the palate it is rich, robust, and structured with supple tannins and a long finish. Decant or open well in advance to allow the wine’s full character to shine. Food Match Perfect alongside a classic rib of beef or a roast leg of lamb, where the wine’s depth and structure will complement the richness of the dish. Grape Varieties Cabernet Sauvignon 66%, Merlot 29%, Petit Verdot 5%
