Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour. Owned by the Gervoson family since 1987, Château Larrivet Haut-Brion is located in the heart of Pessac Léognan, in the Bordeaux wine region. The estate extends over approximately 72 hectares of land, with vines of between 25 and 30 years of average age, planted on predominantly gravelly soil. Thanks also to the consultancy of Michel Rolland, Château Larrivet Haut-Brion is considered one of the most prestigious in Pessac Leognan. The wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. After fermentation which takes place in stainless steel vats and a maceration period lasting from 3 to 5 weeks, the finished wine is aged for 18 months in oak barrels (50% new). Château Larrivet Haut-Brion is a dark red wine with an intense and complex aromatic profile. The nose reveals fragrant aromas of ripe red fruit, especially cherry and ripe strawberry, followed by hints of flowers, coffee and tobacco. On the palate it is round and full. It has a strong acid streak and fine tannins. The finish is long and persistent and recalls smoky notes. It is an elegant wine, ready to drink now with a grilled steak but can be left in the cellar to evolve for a while.
