Bright, red fruit aromas of cherry and strawberry with hints of kirsch, chocolateand an element of anise. Alongside the lifted, fresh fruit there is a floral touch ofrockrose(gum cistus), a wild flower endemic to the Douro and traces of herbalspices. Gorgeous, concentrated palate of red fruits and peppery spice and then anundertow of black tea and tobacco from the grainy tannins. Suggestions of kirschand an attractive schist and flint finish with Cockburn's signature grip. Full-bodied and rich with a grainy texture, showing aromas of violets and dark fruit with a saline touch in the finish. Exuberant and structured, with real depth. Almost reminiscent of Latour, but with sweetness. Try from 2030. The 2024 Vintage Port, the first declaration since 2017, was produced with a blend of 63% Touriga Nacional, the most abundant grape in Quinta de Canais, 24% Touriga Franca, 9% Alicante Bouschet and 4% Sousão. It matured for 18 months in oak vats. It has a low 95 grams of sugar-2017 had 107-and feels drier and more vinous and serious. This has one of the highest percentages of Touriga Nacional, and has an amazing finish. It's classical, more balanced and elegant, with typical rockrose, tobacco and wildflowers. It finishes quite dry, and the tannins are more noticeable.Range: 93-95
