To commemorate their 20th anniversary, Compass Box has introduced a limited edition cask strength bottling of their Peat Monster, honouring the USA-rooted origin of the core expression. The creation of Peat Monster traces back to when Compass Box crafted a whisky for Park Avenue Liquor Shop in New York, which gained considerable popularity, leading to the birth of Peat Monster. This edition of the blended malt Scotch includes whisky finished in virgin American oak barrels, imparting additional notes of vanilla and spice. On the nose, it offers aromas of beach bonfires, lemon curd, crisp apple, and warm spices. The palate reveals silky vanilla caramel intertwined with earthy smoke, accented by roasted almonds, sea spray, and sweet spices. The aftertaste lingers with salted caramel and enduring smoke.
