Domaine de la Motte Chablis 1er Cru is a rounded, fuller style of Chablis, combining classic mineral tones with hints of buttered toast, toasty oak, fresh lemon, and a touch of creaminess, finishing long, saline, and mineral. Meet the Producer Domaine de la Motte is a 25-hectare, family-run winery handed down from father to son since 1950. Now under the stewardship of the current generation, the estate remains committed to producing expressive, site-specific Chablis from Premier Cru vineyards. Production The vineyard sits on lime-rich soils, naturally limiting yields to a maximum of 50 hectolitres per hectare and imparting distinctive mineral character to the wines. Grapes are hand-harvested and gently pressed. 35% of the wine is fermented in small oak barrels, enhancing its fuller body and complexity. The wine ages on its fine lees for several months before bottling. Tasting Notes A rich, mineral-driven Chablis with aromas of buttered toast, toasty oak, and fresh lemon, complemented by a slight creaminess on the palate.
