Drink it now or cellar for up to 5 years. No need to decant. Coming from a family with a long winemaking tradition, Thibaut Marion took over Domaine Seguin-Manuel in 2004. This prestigious Burgundy estate, founded in 1824, and based in Beaune, today extends over approximately 8.5 hectares of vineyards that have been converted to organic farming. Domaine Seguin-Manuel's Cremant de Bourgogne is a blend of mostly Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, with small additions of Aligoté, sourced from regional vineyards in Burgundy. After harvesting and vinification, the wine undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle, following the traditional method (the one used for Champagne). The wine then rests on the lees for over a year before being released for sale. The result is a fresh and lively wine with a fine and persistent perlage that enhances its beautiful golden color. On the nose, the wine reveals fruity aromas of strawberry and currant, citrus, ripe apple, and pear, followed by light hints of brioche. On the palate, it is rounded and velvety, medium-bodied, and has a well-integrated acidity. It is an elegant Cremant with a youthful character that is ideal as an aperitif and pairs well with eggs Benedict or fried fish. It is also an excellent choice for an elegant brunch.
