Cellar for up to 15 years. Decant for up to an hour before serving. The Riesling for this wine was sourced from Heimbourg, a small vineyard on the side of a hill that faces into the picturesque Munster Valley. It is a stunning golden colour in the glass, exhibiting an aromatic nose of white flowers, juicy stone fruits, citrus zest, and precise limestone minerality. The bouquet will grow even more generous after some time of breathing. While the winery as we know it today was founded in 2019, the Zind-Humbrecht winemaking dynasty has a rich heritage in Alsace, dating back to 1620. Today, the domain spans 42 hectares, overlooked by the stalwart winemaking duo of Margaret and Olivier Humbrecht, and their sons, who joined the family business in 2019. On the palate, the Heimbourg Riesling is characterised by great power and racy acidity. The calcareous soils impart a certain tannic stringency, which balances out the high acidity and sweet fruit notes. It is stunningly dry – you can discover notes of white peach, lemon and lime zest, pear, honeysuckle, and sea salt on the tongue. It has an excellent structure, perfect for long-term ageing. Consider pairing it with roast chicken, pork sausage, or an Asian dish.
