Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour. Founded by four friends Roberto Santana, Alfonso Torrente, Laura Ramos, and José Martínez, all oenologists who graduated from the Miguel Hernández de Elx University of Elche, Envinate is a top-level winery based in La Roda in Castilla La Mancha and productions scattered in various regions of Spain. The vineyards of the Almansa are followed and managed by José Martínez. The company also collaborates with local producers. Albahra is a wine produced from a blend of 70% Garnacha Tintorera and 30% Moravia Agria. The grapes come from vineyards located at an altitude of 800 meters in Almansa near Albacete in Castilla-La Mancha on clayey-limestone soils. They are harvested by hand and vinified separately by parcel. Envinate Albahra is a delicious red wine with a strong Mediterranean influence and a perfect balance of fresh red fruits such as cassis, and smoky and spicy flavors of black pepper and nutmeg. In the mouth, the wine reveals excellent acidity and great drinkability with subtle and well-integrated tannins and good fruit concentration. It's the perfect wine for lamb but also works great with a mushroom risotto or a chicken fricassee.
