Granato evolved over the decades, as did the farming, from conventional to organic to biodynamic, and the winemaking, from extractive techniques and heavy new oak ageing to a light handed, terroir-focused approach. Blackberry, licorice and tar aromas with some graphite. Vine-bark and pine-cone undertones. Full-bodied, showing linear, polished tannins that frame the wine beautifully, giving it length and tension. Juicy and chewy. Lovely texture. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Drink or hold. Fresh and fragrant, this entices with cigar box spice and sweet tobacco aromatics, all enmeshed with a dark, deep core of crushed blackberry, black raspberry and cassis fruit. A firm frame of chalky tannins provides a refined, sculpted frame that's fleshed out by the plush texture. Black olive, violet and mineral accents join the fruit character on the long, refreshing finish.
