Incredibly expressive and evocative nose. This wine has so much to say. Classic Kimsey black and blue fruit, black pepper and anise. Dried wild blueberries. Turns to black truffle and luxardo cherry with vivid notes of dried rosemary and sage. Chalky and well endowed with powerful structure. Seamless yet powerfully built. Carries its fruit intensity and density with elegance and grace. A fascinating and delicious expression of the site. So silky and suave. Extremely fine structure. Grace, power and subtlety. The long, cool growing season yielded a Syrah with striking aromatic nuance and tons of complexity. The 2019 is young, young, young, so readers should be prepared to cellar it. Texturally beautiful and persistent, the 2019 is going to need a few years in bottle. It's an exquisite wine to be sure.
