We have been waiting patiently since to offer what is a phenomenal pair of releases from one of the region’s finest producers in one of its best ever vintages. Valdicava are firmly in the top echelon of Brunello, with Vincenzo Abruzzese, whose grandfather was one of the original growers, propelling the estate to the stratosphere. Only around 5000 cases are made each year across the portfolio and the dedication to quality is second to none here with Valdicava electing to bottle no Montosoli or Riserva in 2017 or 2018, nor even producing an estate Brunello in 2018! Such an obsession with excellence guarantees that this set of releases is the crème de la crème – well worth the two years wait for a new Valdicava Brunello.
