Drink now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant before serving. Patricia Ortiz founded Wapisa winery in 2008 after falling in love with the stunning natural beauty of this corner of Patagonia with its windswept plains and remote conditions. At the heart of the estate’s philosophy is caring for the natural environment by using sustainable practices in both its vineyards and winemaking processes wherever possible. Wapisa's commitment to quality and sustainability has earned it numerous awards and recognition in the wine industry. Their Wapisa Malbec is made from hand-selected grapes that are grown in the estate vineyards, located at the foothills of the Andes Mountains. The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, adding complexity and depth to its already rich flavor profile. This punchy Malbec is a great option for lovers of big juicy reds, with ample aromas of dark plum, crushed blackcurrants, and black cherries dominating on the nose along with some vanilla and spice. On the palate, expect a full-bodied and velvety wine, with flavors of ripe dark fruit and rich chocolate. Like many Argentinian Malbecs, this cuvee makes an excellent pairing with grilled meats, hearty stews, and strong cheeses.
