Founded in 1963 by Alberto Zuccardi, Familia Zuccardi is a family winery that has grown into a continent-spanning wine empire. Its top-quality wines (and olive oils) are now exported to over 60 countries, under the expert leadership of Alberto’s two sons. Sebastian and Jose Alberto Zuccardi are uncompromising in their quest for excellence. Zuccardi offers a wide range of Argentinian wines and brands, including Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay, as well as sparkling wines and high-end wines under its "Santa Julia" label. Fósil is crafted from 100% Chardonnay, cultivated in one of the most extreme climates that Uco Valley has to offer. The grapes for Fósil are within the San Pablo IG, at 1400 metres above sea level. It’s a pure, terroir-driven wine, produced without malolactic fermentation. The nose is full of nuance, revealing tart apple, lemon, hazelnut, and hints of ginger, herbs and gunpowder. In the mouth, it shows its crisp and elegant character, reminiscent of the stiff winds you may find on Andean mountaintops. The palate is dry and saline, with pure lemon qualities and subtle, toasty hints of barrel ageing. Fósil is worthy of drinking alone, but can also be paired with elegant chicken dishes, creamy sauces, or sushi.
