Bodegas La Horra Corimbo Red Wine
Bodegas La Horra is a modern, forward-thinking estate at the heart of Ribera del Duero , one of Spain's most celebrated red wine regions. Corimbo is their flagship expression, sourced from organically farmed vineyards in the villages of La Horra and Roa, with vines averaging around 20 years of age. It is a wine that captures the soul of the region with freshness, aromatic depth and genuine elegance. Why You'll Love It This is Ribera del Duero red wine at its most expressive and approachable. Corimbo strikes a beautiful balance between the power you expect from the region and a freshness that makes it genuinely versatile at the table. The organic farming brings a purity to the fruit, while 16 months in oak adds richness and spice without ever overwhelming the wine's natural character. Whether you're opening it tonight or cellaring it for a few years, Corimbo delivers. Vineyard and Production Grapes are hand-picked into 16kg crates and carefully sorted on arrival at the winery. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in a combination of wooden and stainless steel vats, with a maceration period of approximately 18 days to extract colour, structure and aromatic complexity. The wine is then aged for 16 months in a blend of 80% French oak and 20% American oak barrels, building texture and depth while preserving the vibrant fruit at its core. Tasting Notes Deep picota cherry in colour with a dark red rim. The nose is expressive and inviting, with red and black fruits, particularly cherry and blackberry, alongside mineral notes, aromatic herbs and fine spice. Subtle hints of wet earth, pine forest and fresh pistachio add intrigue. On the palate, broad and voluminous, with fine, polished tannins, red fruit flavours, delicate oak and a long, harmonious finish with a lingering freshness. Perfect Pairings A natural partner for the dinner table. Try it with roasted lamb, slow-braised beef, hearty stews or a classic Sunday roast. Also excellent alongside aged Manchego, charcuterie or
Keith Tulloch The Kester Shiraz 2022
Keith Tulloch The Kester Shiraz is a profound, deeply structured red wine crafted as a heartfelt homage to the winemaker's ancestors. Sourced entirely from centenarian vines planted in the historic soils of the Hunter Valley, this exceptional Shiraz captures the perfect intersection of power and cool-climate elegance. It represents a monumental, highly collectible bottling from one of Australia’s premier family-owned estates, celebrating both heritage and masterful craftsmanship. Why You'll Love It This is Hunter Valley Shiraz at its absolute zenith, displaying an extraordinary depth of flavour that only centenarian, dry-farmed vines can deliver. Masterfully combining modern precision with historic winemaking techniques, Keith Tulloch has created a red with incredible cellar potential that remains wonderfully approachably and luxurious. The inclusion of a tiny touch of Viognier and traditional hand-plunging produces an incredibly polished, complex palate that stands as a benchmark for premium Australian wine. Vineyard & Production The grapes are hand-harvested from low-yielding, dry-farmed vineyards boasting vines over a century old. Drawing inspiration from his time in the Rhône Valley, specifically working with the legendary Hermitage vineyards of Jaboulet, Keith co-ferments the Shiraz with a trace of Viognier in open vats for four weeks. Regular hand-plunging is employed to gently extract structural tannins and aromatic complexity. The wine is then matured for 20 months in fine French oak barriques, providing a velvety, integrated support that enhances the wine's incredible length. Tasting Notes Pouring a deep, dense ruby, this Shiraz opens with a heady, complex bouquet of jaffa orange and fresh orange blossom, layered over rich concentrated blackcurrant, anise, and wild blackberry. As the wine breathes, subtle hints of juniper and crushed wild herbs begin to emerge. The palate is muscular and beautifully structured, dominated by intense flavours of black cherry,
