Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge, Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard 2020
Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard is new to our offering this year and what a year to bring them in. This Domaine that covers a huge range of villages specialises in whites and over the past decade have raised their stock exponentially. With high acclaim from the 2014 and 2017 vintages, the 2020 has once again suited their style. The wines have a clear purity and minerality as well as a lovely weight and richness of fruit. With Céline Fontaine and her husband Fred Robert (formerly of Armand Rousseau) at the helm, focus and precision is what makes them really stand out.
Chateau L'Enclos Pomerol 2022
Château L'Enclos is one of Pomerol's most quietly impressive estates — a certified organic property on the appellation's famous western plateau, managed since 2007 by Denise and Stephen Adams with a clear focus on finesse, freshness, and sustainable viticulture. With Bordeaux consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt guiding the winemaking, this is Pomerol crafted with real precision and purpose. Why You'll Love It This is Pomerol at its most elegant — rich yet fresh, structured yet silky. Unlike many Right Bank wines that lean heavily on extraction, L'Enclos is defined by balance and restraint, with the lush, plummy character of Merlot beautifully framed by Cabernet Franc and Malbec. Certified organic since 2017, it’s a wine you can feel good about drinking. Outstanding quality for the appellation. Vineyard & Production The estate's terraced vineyards sit on the sunny western slope of Pomerol's plateau, planted on gravelly surface soils over clay-iron subsoils — ideal for deep root growth, optimal ripening, and concentrated fruit. Grapes are harvested by hand and vinified in a combination of oak, stainless steel, and concrete vats to preserve freshness and structure. The wine is aged 16–18 months in French oak (40% new, 60% one-year-old), integrating subtle spice while maintaining a silky, lush mouthfeel. Tasting Notes Deep and inviting, the 2022 opens with expressive aromas of dark plum, red cherry, and subtle earthy spice. On the palate it is rich and lush, with silky tannins, a velvety texture, and a long, refined finish that exemplifies the quiet elegance of great Pomerol. Perfect Pairings A natural match for roasted red meats, rack of lamb, game dishes such as venison or duck, and aged hard cheeses. Also excellent alongside a slow-braised beef short rib or a classic French cassoulet. The Blend Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec.
