Cotswolds Signature Single Malt
Crafted in the heart of the English countryside, Cotswolds Signature Single Malt Whisky is a testament to tradition and meticulous detail. This award-winning expression uses only the finest locally grown barley, traditionally floor-malted to unlock its full potential. The Cotswolds Distillery prides itself on using local ingredients, and this single malt is no exception. The barley is sourced from the Cotswolds themselves, and the water used in production comes from the village supply – filtered, softened, and demineralised to ensure purity. For a truly complex flavour profile, Cotswolds Signature Single Malt undergoes a thoughtful maturation process. A marriage of whiskies matured in two distinct cask types creates a symphony of flavours. First-fill ex-bourbon barrels impart the classic vanilla, honey, and caramel notes associated with American oak. These notes are then complemented by maturation in STR (Shaved, Toasted, and Re-charred) ex-red wine barriques. These unique casks, once used for red wine, infuse the whisky with hints of red fruit and a subtle touch of spice. The result is a single malt whisky that is both smooth and characterful. The aroma offers a delightful mix of honeyed sweetness, ripe red apples, and a touch of citrus peel. The first sip is a revelation, with honey and Seville orange flavours giving way to rich marmalade and dark red fruits. A hint of treacle lingers on the finish, creating a truly memorable taste experience.
Langatun Old Deer Classic 50cl
This distillery was founded in 1986 by Jakob Baumberger who took over a former brewery adding a still and acquiring a pure water source above in the hills at Langatuan. Nearly 150 years later in 2007, master distiller Hans Baumberger, the 3rd continues with the distillery and making its first single malt whisky Old Deer is their classic single malt made with European malted barley and English stout yeast. This give it a fruity style with vegetale notes. It has been triple distilled for smoothness and matured in sherry and chardonnay oak casks.
