Domaine Rimauresq Rose Cru Classe 2025
Domaine Rimauresq is a select, modern estate in Provence , named after the 'Real Mauresque' river that runs through its 57 hectares of prime vineyards. With vines averaging 40 years old and the oldest dating back to 1930, the estate's north-west facing slopes, coastal proximity and shelter from the Mediterranean sun create a unique microclimate, aided by cooling Mistral winds. The result is a French Rose Wine of genuine refinement and Cru Classe standing. Why You'll Love It This is Dry Rose Wine at its most elegant. Rimauresq's meticulous vineyard practices and careful winemaking produce a pale, expressive rose that balances freshness and complexity with effortless grace. Organically farmed and crafted from a multi-variety blend, it offers the kind of nuance and length more commonly found at a higher price point. Vineyard and Production. Harvest is both mechanical and manual, carried out in the early morning to preserve freshness. Grapes undergo cold maceration on the skins before pressing, with free-run juice fermented at low temperatures. The wine spends three weeks on its lees with regular batonnage to enhance aromatic complexity. Malolactic fermentation is avoided to preserve vibrant acidity. Tasting Notes. Delicate pale onion-skin colour. Aromas of strawberry and rosehip with an appealing garrigue-spiced nose. The palate is rounded and elegant, with red fruit, gentle spice and bright acidity. The finish is long, silky and nuanced, with a hint of white pepper. Perfect Pairings. An excellent match as an aperitif or paired with salads, grilled fish and a classic Nicoise salad. Also well suited to light pasta dishes, soft cheeses and seafood platters. Grape Varieties. Grenache , Cinsault, Rolle, Syrah, Mourvedre, Tibouren and Carignan
Lafran Veyrolles Bandol Rosé 2025
Domaine Lafran Veyrolles is widely recognised as one of the top three producers in the Bandol appellation, farming just 10 hectares of vines on the classic clay-limestone soils of the Cadière d'Azur hills. Run by Jean-Marie Castel, the estate works to organic principles, keeps yields extremely low, and upholds the traditional winemaking style that has made Lafran Veyrolles a benchmark name in Provence. Why You'll Love It This is Bandol Rosé at its finest pale salmon, beautifully balanced, and utterly satisfying. Unlike many Provence rosés that prioritise colour over character, Lafran Veyrolles leads with Mourvèdre , the noble grape of Bandol, delivering a wine of real depth and elegance. Floral on the nose, warm and rounded on the palate, with a long, refined finish that sets it apart from the crowd. Arguably one of the finest French rosé wines available at any price. Vineyard & Production The vineyards nestle in the protected hills of the Cadière d'Azur, benefiting from a maritime climate that tempers the Provençal heat. Traditional manual vineyard work is maintained alongside organic methods of weed and pest control. Mourvèdre is harvested towards the end of September later than most varieties to achieve full phenolic ripeness. Modern, temperature-controlled winery facilities preserve the freshness and traditional character of the estate. Tasting Notes A beautiful pale salmon colour introduces an almost floral nose of delicate red fruit and subtle spice. The palate is warm, rounded, and generously fruited, with lovely texture and a long, elegant finish. Subtle, beautifully balanced, and deeply satisfying. Perfect Pairings A superb food rosé, perfect with grilled sea bass, bouillabaisse, Provençal fish stew, roasted chicken with herbs, charcuterie, soft cheeses, ratatouille, or a classic niçoise salad. Also excellent as an aperitif on a warm summer evening. The Blend Mourvèdre 65%, Cinsault 15%, Grenache 10%
