GlenDronach Ode To The Dark PX Casks

As evening descends, darkness heralds the arrival of richer rewards. Deeper flavours emerge, inviting us to savour them slowly. This is an Ode to the Dark. Matured in exceptional Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and bottled at a high strength, this sumptuous expression from The Glendronach elevates richness to a sublime peak, with layers of flavour combining to create an indulgent experience. There is a symphony of aromas containing mocha, black cherry and dark chocolate. The palate is velvety smooth with espresso and creme caramel that fold into black grape and mint chocolate ganache. Ode to the Dark is the richest expression within The Master’s Anthology, a collection of fine single malts from The Glendronach. Our Master Blender invites you to explore the breadth and depth of sherry cask maturation. Each expression in this collection is exceptional in character and taste, celebrating different aspects of our rich and rewarding Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

Laphroaig Lore Islay Single Malt Whisky

Laphroaig Lore is presented as one of the distillery’s richest and most complex expressions, created from a tapestry of casks that span several styles and ages. Drawn from a combination of first‑fill sherry butts, quarter casks and older, more mature stock, it reflects the depth of knowledge passed down through generations of Laphroaig distillers. The result is a whisky that captures the essence of the distillery’s coastal home on Islay while offering a broader, more layered interpretation of its famously intense character. Lore is crafted to honour tradition, weaving together smoke, sweetness and savoury richness in a way that feels both familiar and elevated. The aroma opens with deep peat smoke, sea spray and charred driftwood, followed by notes of dark chocolate, treacle and warm spice from the sherry casks. On the palate it is full‑bodied and powerful, combining rich peat with flavours of black pepper, roasted coffee, dried fruit and a touch of salted caramel. Layers of oak and earthy minerality build as it develops, giving the whisky a sense of depth and structure. The finish is long, smoky and slightly sweet, leaving lingering impressions of spice, cocoa and maritime peat.
