Gremillet Champagne Rose Brut
Rose Champagne Gremillet Brut NV is a fine, full-flavoured expression from a Pinot Noir specialist in the Aube. Delicately hued, creamy in texture, and refreshingly tangy on the finish, this is a classic Pinot Noir rose Champagne that is as beautiful to look at as it is to drink. Why You'll Love It The Gremillet family have specialised in Pinot Noir since founding their estate in 1979, and it shows. Where many rose Champagnes lean on Chardonnay for freshness, Gremillet leads with Pinot Noir for structure and fruit depth, then ages the wine for a minimum of 22 months on its lees, well beyond the 15 months required by Champagne regulations. The result is a rose of genuine complexity and finesse, served in French embassies worldwide. Vineyard and Production Pinot Noir grapes are gently pressed for up to two hours to extract the jus de presse, which is then vinified and blended to achieve the wine's delicate colour and vibrant character. Extended lees ageing of at least 22 months ensures full integration of flavours and a creamy, persistent mousse before disgorgement and release. Tasting Notes A delicately hued rose with fine, persistent bubbles. The nose offers fresh red berry fruit and subtle brioche, while the palate shows wonderful texture and elegance. A tangy, refreshing finish leaves you reaching for another glass. Perfect Pairings Delicious served well chilled as an aperitif, but equally excellent alongside roast duck, grilled prawns, or fresh berry desserts. Grape Varieties Pinot Noir, Chardonnay
Wiston Estate, Rosé NV
Wiston Estate has been owned and managed by the Goring family since 1743, and owners Harry and Pip have planted grapes on the fields since 2008. Its 6,000 acres straddle the chalky slopes of the South Downs and the flat clay soils of the Weald. The traditional Coquard press at Wiston is one of only four outside of France and is unique to the UK. Its large surface area and exceptionally gentle pressing enables extraction of the very highest quality. The estate has won numerous awards for their sparkling wines and were dubbed ‘Winery of the Year’ at the WineGB Awards in 2018 (the most important competition for the English and Welsh Wine Industry.) Their Rosé is a blend of 40% Pinot Noir, 30% Pinot Meunier and 30% Chardonnay. The juice was fermented entirely in stainless steel tanks. Each component of the final assemblage wine went through malolactic fermentation and was allowed to rest on its lees prior to bottling in July 2015, bringing additional complexity and structure. Please note that some of our Wiston Estate Rosé bottles may be missing the top foil. Rest assured, the wine inside is exactly the same and just as delicious.
