Seifried Nelson Gewürztraminer 2025
Seifried Estate Nelson Gewürztraminer is a gorgeously aromatic New Zealand white that captures everything the variety does best — roses, lychee, tropical fruit, and a succulently spiced palate — with the freshness and balance that Nelson's exceptional terroir consistently delivers. Sourced from two contrasting vineyards, hand-harvested, and carefully vinified to preserve aromatic intensity, this is Gewürztraminer at its most expressive and rewarding. Why You'll Love It Seifried sources grapes from two complementary sites: Brightwater Vineyard, 15km from the coast and sheltered by the Richmond ranges, planted in extremely stony soils that limit vigour and produce intensely flavoured fruit; and Redwood Valley, an unirrigated north-facing clay vineyard with vines aged 10–30 years, optimally exposed for maximum ripeness and aromatic intensity. The result is a wine of exceptional concentration and balance — consistently one of New Zealand's finest expressions of the variety. Vineyard & Production Gewürztraminer grapes are hand-harvested, destemmed, and allowed brief skin contact before pressing. The clear juice undergoes cool, temperature-controlled fermentation with pure yeast, followed by maturation on yeast lees for added texture. The wine is then racked, blended, clarified, stabilised, and bottled to preserve its vibrant aromatic character. Tasting Notes Bright and aromatic on the nose — roses, ginger beer, lychee, mango, pineapple, and pear drop. The palate is succulent and flavoursome, with tangerine, Turkish Delight, and tropical fruit characters, balanced by vibrant acidity and a clean, lingering finish. Classic Nelson Gewürztraminer: rich, fresh, and deeply expressive. Perfect Pairings An ideal aperitif and a natural partner for spiced and aromatic dishes. Excellent with Thai, Vietnamese, and Indian cuisine, lightly spiced poultry, aromatic seafood, and soft cheeses. The wine's natural sweetness and acidity handle gentle heat beautifully. The Blend Gewürztramine
Spy Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2024
Characters of gooseberry and asparagus with ripe melon really delicately balanced and at the same time deliciously quaffable. Located across the road from a US government listening post, Spy Valley is one of New Zealand's most acclaimed producers. The grapes that do all the hard work come from 360 hectares of estate vineyards in the lower Waihopai Valley and from select vineyard sites in Marlborough's Wairau and Southern Valley regions. From there its up to Chief Winemaker, Paul Bourgeois, and a high-tech winery that wouldn't look out of place in the background of well known spys adventures. As well as having full temperature controls in every room, as well as lots of other gadgets, its situated right in the middle of the estate, ensuring very sensitive handling of fruit before crushing. Like most Marlborough wineries, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc are Spy Valley specialties but winemaker Paul Bourgeois and his team also make a great range of aromatic whites including Riesling, Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris.
