This unique wine offers a delightful alternative to traditional sparkling wines. Why You'll Love It This is one of Italy's most charming and distinctive wines—a lightly sparkling sweet red that's perfect for those who enjoy sweeter styles or want something different. At just 5.5% ABV, it's wonderfully light and refreshing, making it ideal for afternoon sipping or pairing with desserts. The natural sweetness from halted fermentation and vibrant raspberry and violet aromas create an irresistible combination at an exceptional price. Meet the Producer Produced by Araldica Castelvero, one of Piemonte's most forward-thinking co-operatives based in Castel Boglione at the heart of Barbera d'Asti, this Brachetto showcases the winery's dedication to both tradition and quality in producing distinctive Piedmont wines. Production The grapes are sourced from vineyards in the Monferrato hills of southern Asti province, grown on limestone clay soils at altitudes of 250–400m. Vines average 20 years of age and are trained using the low Guyot system. Grapes are hand-harvested in late August, then chilled and macerated on skins for 2–3 days before pressing. Fermentation takes place in pressurised tanks and is halted early, leaving natural sweetness at 5.5% ABV with around 100g/l residual sugar. Tasting Notes Bright and aromatic, with lifted notes of fresh raspberries, violets and dried rose petals. The palate is juicy, lightly sparkling and bursting with red berry and grape fruitiness. Sweetness is perfectly balanced by refreshing acidity, leading to a delicate, fragrant finish. Perfect Pairings A delightful aperitif and ideal for summer afternoons. Pairs beautifully w
