Alpha Estate Malagouzia Turtles Vineyard is a world-class, highly original white wine from the cool highlands of Amyndeon in North West Greece . Masterfully crafted by viticulturist Makis Mavridis and Bordeaux-trained winemaker Angelos Iatridis, this single-vineyard bottling is a spectacular celebration of Malagouzia . Once an endangered grape variety, it has been brilliantly revived at this technically advanced, certified-sustainable estate to produce an aromatic white of incredible depth, focus, and class.

Why You'll Love It

This wine offers a captivating, vibrant alternative to classic aromatic whites like Sauvignon Blanc or Viognier . Named after the local turtle population that uses the site as a nesting ground, the Turtles Vineyard benefits from a unique microclimate that coaxes incredible concentration out of the grapes . The winemaking team balances a intensely perfumed, exotic fruit profile with a precise mineral freshness and a beautifully silky texture, resulting in a thoroughly modern Greek white that delivers pure sophistication.

Vineyard & Production

The fruit is grown in the northwest-facing Turtles sub-region on the Amyndeon plateau, situated at an impressive altitude of 670 metres. Here, clay-limestone soils provide excellent drainage, whilst two neighbouring lakes help moderate the continental climate to encourage slow, even ripening. Following careful destemming, the grapes undergo a cold skin contact soak to capture maximum aromatics. The wine is then fermented at gradually increasing temperatures and maintained on its fine lees for two months with regular stirring, imparting a luxurious, creamy weight.

Tasting Notes

Brilliantly light yellow with subtle greenish tints, this wine opens with a strong, lively nose that is classically characteristic of the grape. Expressive aromas of rose petal, jasmine, and honeysuckle lift layers of ripe melon, litchi, and zesty grapefruit. The palate is round, mellow, and beautifully structured, offering a fat yet
