One of the first white wines from Bolgheri, a colour that heralded the appellation, the Costa di Giulia has been produced by Michele Satta since 1984 (the year the DOC was established). Made from the first vines acquired by the family estate, at the foot of the village of Castagneto Carducci, this Vermentino cuvée has, over the years, incorporated a proportion of Sauvignon Blanc (40% of the final blend). Vinified in steel and concrete tanks, then aged on lees for around six months, the Bolgheri Bianco Costa di Giulia 2024 expresses its elegance and ageing potential, with a character distinctive to the Tuscan coast. With a beautiful straw-yellow colour, it offers aromas of stone fruit, citrus and an exotic touch, enhanced by spicy and herbaceous notes (white pepper, sage...). On the palate, it harmoniously blends creaminess and minerality, with a hint of juicy acidity right through to the finish, which is flavourful and slightly salty.
