Among the I Campi collection from Tenuta di Trinoro – three wines made from three Cabernet Francs sourced from three distinct vineyards – the Campo di Tenaglia showcases the eponymous vineyard: 0.8 hectares facing due south at an altitude of 500 metres, on a steep slope of coarse limestone and clay, with deep, well-drained soil. Aged for 6 months in French oak barrels, followed by 12 months in cement vats, the Tenaglia 2023 displays impressive structure. It stands out for its bouquet of black fruits, enhanced by fresh vegetal and balsamic notes, notably of eucalyptus leaf, thyme and liquorice root. Shaped by the gravelly soils, its ripe, silky tannins develop a delightful concentration and liveliness, which linger in a long, persistent finish.
