Château de Fesles produces the prestigious Bonnezeaux, a sweet wine from Anjou crafted in a specially designed 50 cl carafe to enhance tastings on special occasions. “La Chapelle,” the estate’s most esteemed plot, sits on clay-schist soils with phyllites, giving the wine exceptional structure, balance, and minerality. Meet the producer Château de Fesles has a long-standing heritage of excellence, with records of Bonnezeaux production dating back to 1055 by the monks of Gué de Berge. Fully restored in 1991, the estate is recognized as a benchmark property in Anjou. Since the 2022 vintage, all wines are certified organic, reflecting a commitment to sustainable viticulture and careful hand-harvesting for optimal selection. Production The wine is made from Chenin Blanc grapes, whose natural acidity balances the sweetness. Grapes are harvested by hand and undergo a raisining process to concentrate sugars. The schist terroir retains water and maintains freshness, supporting the wine’s lively acidity. Vinification is carefully managed to highlight the unique terroir and the exceptional quality of the grapes. Tasting notes Bonnezeaux Carafe displays a luminous golden hue.
