Occidental wines are produced from vineyards situated on a South West-facing ridge overlooking the Pacific Ocean, just outside the town of Bodega. Occidental Pinot Noirs are crystalline wines with vivid aromas and intense red fruit flavours. They possess a wonderfully chiselled quality, layered with a salty, mineral character. The beauty of these coastal sites and the challenging conditions faced by these vineyards are reflected in Occidental’s wines. The ruby colour of this nectar glows in the glass, like a jewel. There is a distinct marine influence here, reminiscent of ocean brine, iodine and tidal pools at low tide. This is followed by a range of tiny red and black berries, complemented by a floral note of violet. On the palate, lively flavours of black raspberry and black cherry are enhanced by neon blood orange. An extremely long and lingering finish. A truly unique wine.
