In Westhalten, in the Vallée Noble, the Steinstuck vineyard is distinguished by a particularly mineral terroir, consisting of Muschelkalk limestone with very little soil. Situated at an altitude of nearly 400 metres, above the Zinnkoepflé Grand Cru, this east-facing slope benefits from a climate with Mediterranean influences. In the morning, the coolness strikes first, before the light reveals the stone with an almost sharp clarity: a sensation that encapsulates the very identity of this wine. The 2023 vintage expresses a remarkable tension between ripeness and freshness. Its bouquet is deep, generous and delicately spicy, underpinned by a salty character and great precision. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and flavourful, yet retains an ethereal energy and a lingering freshness. The mineral structure unfolds with finesse, underpinned by a particularly pronounced salinity and a tension that lends length and brilliance to the whole.
