With roots in one of Catalonia's most historic vineyard sites, this wine reflects the unique Mediterranean terroir of the region with elegance, depth, and real character. Purgatori takes its name from the dramatic landscape of the Costers del Segre, a rugged, high-altitude wine region in inland Catalonia that produces wines of remarkable concentration and personality. Vineyard & Production Grapes are sourced from vineyards that benefit from the region's warm, dry Mediterranean climate and challenging soils, producing fruit of intense concentration and expressive aromatic potential. The wine undergoes 7 to 10 days of skin contact before alcoholic fermentation in cement and stainless steel tanks at 22 degrees. Malolactic fermentation occurs entirely in barrel, followed by 15 to 18 months ageing in 100% oak barrels, with 30% new French Nevers oak adding richness and complexity.
