Lillet Blanc (75cl)

The description below comes from the retailer. Bottle details and price comparisons are listed above.

Lillet Blanc is presented as a refined French apéritif from Bordeaux, crafted from a blend of carefully selected wines and citrus‑infused botanicals. Its pale golden colour and bright, aromatic character make it a versatile choice, equally at home served chilled over ice, lengthened with tonic or used as a key ingredient in classic cocktails. Known for its elegant balance of fruit, floral notes and gentle bitterness, it offers a lighter, more modern style compared with traditional vermouths, appealing to those who enjoy a fresh and approachable apéritif. On the palate, Lillet Blanc delivers a smooth, rounded sweetness supported by flavours of ripe citrus, honeyed fruit and subtle herbal undertones. Notes of orange blossom, lemon zest and soft spice create a lively yet harmonious profile, while a delicate bitterness adds structure and keeps the finish clean. The aroma is fragrant and inviting, with hints of white flowers, candied peel and fresh grapes. Its crisp, refreshing finish and graceful complexity make it ideal for spritzes, Martinis or simply enjoyed on its own as a sophisticated pre‑dinner drink. From the current Casino Royale Movie, try James Bond's custom-blend martini named the Vesper, after his double agent girlfriend: 3 measures gin, 1 measure vodka, 1/2 measure Lillet Blanc. Pour the gin, vodka and Lillet blanc into a cocktail shaker half-filled with cracked ice. Shake well, and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a large, thin slice of lemon peel, and serve.
