Metaxa Ouzo is Greece's iconic anise-flavoured spirit, crafted with a distinctive blend of aromatic botanicals including anise, mastic, and badiane (star anise). This classic ouzo delivers the rich, balanced flavour that has made it a Mediterranean staple for generations, perfect for leisurely sipping in the traditional Greek style.

Why You'll Love It

This is authentic Greek ouzo at its finest—aromatic, smooth, and deeply satisfying. The combination of anise, mastic from the island of Chios, and badiane creates a unique flavour profile that's both complex and approachable. Whether you're recreating a Greek taverna experience at home or discovering ouzo for the first time, Metaxa delivers the real deal.

Production

Produced by Metaxa, one of Greece's most respected spirits houses, this ouzo is crafted using traditional methods with a carefully balanced blend of botanicals. Anise provides the signature liquorice character, while mastic adds subtle pine and herbal notes, and badiane contributes warming spice and depth.

Tasting Notes

Clear and bright, turning milky white when water or ice is added. The nose is aromatic with pronounced anise, sweet liquorice, and herbal mastic notes. The palate is smooth and full-bodied with balanced anise, subtle spice, and a clean, refreshing finish. Perfect Serve Serve in the classic Greek manner with ice-cold water or over ice, which releases the aromatic oils and creates the signature cloudy appearance. Pairs beautifully with mezze, grilled seafood, olives, feta cheese, and Mediterranean small plates.
