Penfolds Bin 311 Chardonnay 2024 is a cool-climate Chardonnay sourced from Adelaide Hills, Tasmania and Tumbarumba, regions selected for their ability to deliver freshness, natural acidity and precision. The wine is barrel-fermented and matured for around eight months in French oak barriques, with a low proportion of new oak, and aged on lees to build texture without overt richness. The style is dry and medium-bodied, focused on citrus and stone fruit with a mineral, chalk-like line through the palate. Acidity and subtle phenolic grip define the structure, giving clarity and length rather than weight. Bin 311 2024 is approachable on release but has the balance to develop well over the medium term.
