This Pino 2024 is one of Juan Antonio Ponce's finest vintages, a superb expression of Bobal from a magnificent vintage, producing well-structured wines. Made from vines cultivated biodynamically on his family estate in Cuenca, Ponce's Pino evokes the pine-covered hills and limestone soils of Villanueva de la Jara. Grown in an untreated, unirrigated vineyard and aged for 11 months in French oak barrels, it combines aromas of crisp black fruits (fresh cherries) with mineral notes. On the palate, it already displays fine maturity, balancing roundness, power and a controlled alcohol content (just 12.5%). The aromatic complexity, the finesse of the non-oaky tannins, the dazzling freshness and the biting liveliness, persistent on the finish, form a whole of great purity. Emblematic of the wine-growing renaissance in Castile-La Mancha, this beautiful red wine from the DO Manchuela achieves a remarkable level of refinement and quality.
