Its name pays homage to Sainte Hune, a legendary figure from Hunawihr, whose story is intimately linked to this exceptional vineyard. Produced in very limited quantities, this cuvée has become a global benchmark for connoisseurs of fine, age-worthy Rieslings. The Clos Sainte Hune comes from a single 1.67-hectare plot, nestled at the heart of the Rosacker terroir in Hunawihr. This vineyard, owned by the Trimbach family for over two centuries, benefits from a particularly favourable environment: a south to south-east aspect, a cool, dry microclimate sheltered by the Vosges mountains, and a marl-limestone subsoil rich in shell limestone (Muschelkalk). The old vines, some of which are over 80 years old, draw deeply on the mineral elements that give the wine its tension, precision and exceptional ageing potential. Founded in 1626, Domaine Trimbach has upheld a unique style across thirteen generations. The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand to ensure only perfectly ripe grapes are selected.
