Siesta Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 is the personal project of renowned Argentine winemaker Ernesto Catena, whose biodynamic philosophy and artistic vision shape every bottle. Sourced from high-altitude plots in the Uco Valley, Mendoza , this is a bold yet refined expression of Argentina's flagship red grape.

Why You'll Love It

Siesta is not a commercial project. It is a statement of intent from one of Argentina's most respected winemaking families. Ernesto Catena's biodynamic approach, combined with the exceptional terroir of the Uco Valley at over 1,000 metres elevation, produces a Cabernet Sauvignon of genuine complexity and ageing potential. This is a single vineyard wine that rewards patience and rewards the glass. Vineyard and Production Grown in the Uco Valley at elevations exceeding 1,000 metres, the vineyard benefits from intense sunlight, cool nights, and well-drained alluvial soils. Biodynamic farming practices are employed throughout to enhance soil vitality and vine balance, with minimal intervention and deep respect for natural rhythms. Grapes are hand-harvested and fermented with native yeasts before ageing in French oak barrels for 12 to 14 months. The approach is gentle and precise, allowing the vineyard's character to shine through while building structure and depth.

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby in the glass, Siesta opens with aromas of cassis, blackberry, graphite, and subtle spice. The palate is concentrated and elegant, with firm tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, savoury finish that speaks clearly of its high-altitude origins.

Perfect Pairings

A natural match for grilled steak, roast lamb, hard cheeses, and rich vegetarian dishes. Also excellent alongside slow-cooked beef, venison, and hearty lentil-based dishes.

The Blend

100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
