Georgia, the ancient cradle of viticulture, produces red wines mainly from local grape varieties such as Saperavi, a variety that is very popular in the Kakheti region and in the Vardisubani vineyard. Located in eastern Georgia, on the banks of the Alazani River, the small wine-growing area of Napareuli is renowned for its elegant and rich red wines, such as the Tamada Napareuli 2021. Produced using the traditional Kakheti winemaking method, which involves fermentation and skin maceration of whole, uncrushed grapes in qvevri (terracotta amphorae buried in the ground), this Napareuli was then aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. Intense and structured, it offers aromas of ripe black fruits and spices, with woody and vanilla notes, supported by fine tannins and a long, harmonious finish. It will be perfect with flavourful dishes, red meat or Georgian cuisine.
