This Viré-Clessé Tradition from Domaine des Deux Roches comes from a vineyard located in the northern half of the Mâconnais wine region. The cuvée is made from a blend of plots situated in the village of Viré and on the hillsides overlooking the village of Clessé. The relatively low altitude, limestone soils, east-southeast exposure and proximity to the Saône river promote excellent ripeness of the grapes and give rise to a generous cuvée. The vines are also situated near the famous Roche de Solutré and Roche de Vergisson, on clay-limestone slopes, as well as in the communes of Chaintré and Fuissé. This selection of terroirs enables the estate to produce a delicate wine, characterised by a subtle minerality, with precise and lively aromas, supported by a structure that is both solid and rich. A consistent style that asserts itself with every vintage. In the glass, this complex and velvety Viré-Clessé Tradition offers the perfect balance between aromas, acidity and freshness: on the palate, one finds all the finest qualities of Chardonnay, and that is certainly no bad thing!
