Warre’s LBV Port is a premium fortified wine from one of the oldest and most respected Port houses in Portugal. Founded in 1670, Warre’s was the first British Port company established in Portugal, pioneering a tradition of exceptional quality that continues to this day. LBV Port is made from carefully selected vineyards, offering the richness and structure of Vintage Port with the approachability of a wine ready to drink upon release. Producer & Vineyards Warre’s sources grapes from two of the Douro Valley’s finest estates – Quinta da Cavadinha and Quinta do Retiro. The wines showcase the elegance, power, and signature freshness of the Douro, with traditional grape varieties including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, and Tinta Barroca.

Winemaking

& Ageing Late Bottled Vintage Ports are crafted from a single year’s harvest. Unlike Vintage Port, LBV is aged in oak casks for four to six years before bottling, allowing the wine to be ready to drink immediately without the need for decanting. This method preserves the wine’s vibrant fruit character while softening tannins and developing complexity.

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby in colour, Warre’s LBV Port displays a lifted nose of red berries, ripe plums, and subtle floral notes of rockrose (esteva). On the palate, it is soft, elegant, and full of finesse, with vibrant red fruit, eucalyptus hints, and a lingering, harmonious finish.

Food Pairing

& Serving LBV Port is perfect served at room temperature and pairs beautifully with blue cheeses, mature Portuguese cheeses, and rich chocolate desserts. It can be enjoyed immediately and will maintain its quality for several weeks after opening. Technical Information Grape Varieties: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca
