What the official register confirms about Jerez
BottlePicker found an exact region-name match in an official wine or spirits register. This establishes useful regional context; it does not by itself prove that this particular bottle is entitled to the designation. Check the producer label and specification for that claim.

The Fernando de Castilla Antique Oloroso is a classic, richly aromatic sherry from DO Jerez-Xérès-Sherry, aged for around 20 years. Friendly enough to convert non-sherry drinkers yet refined enough to impress sommeliers, it has won Best Wine of Show and Best Dry Fortified at the Wines from Spain Awards 2019. Elegant, dry and complex, it is perfect for sipping or pairing with bold foods.
Meet the Producer
Bodegas Rey Fernando de Castilla, located in the historic heart of Jerez, is a family-driven bodega founded by the aristocratic Andrada-Vanderwilde family. Renowned for producing premium, artisanal sherries, the winery blends traditional methods with careful vineyard selection to create wines of exceptional purity and character.
Production
Grapes are sourced from partner vineyards in the Jerez district, grown on Albariza soils and harvested in early September. Unlike Fino or Amontillado, this Oloroso does not age under flor; it is fortified to 18% ABV shortly after harvest and introduced into the first criadera of the Oloroso solera. Bottled without blending, cold stabilization, or filtration, it preserves the subtlety, purity, and distinctive aromas of the wine.
Tasting Notes
This Antique Oloroso displays a deep, polished amber colour with earthy, masculine notes. Aromas of walnut, spices and orange peel are complemented by a dry, aromatic palate. Rich, structured and beautifully crafted, it exemplifies the classic traits of aged Oloroso.
Food Pairing
Ideal with hard cheeses, cold meats, or as a companion to a fine cigar. Also works beautifully with nuts and savoury tapas.
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
