Meet the Producer
Founded in 1904 in Marlenheim, at the gateway to the Alsace Wine Route, Arthur Metz is one of the region’s leading producers. The Cuvée Michel Léon range pays tribute to the estate’s founders and embodies Alsace’s tradition of crafting elegant, varietal wines that express purity, balance, and regional character.
Production
Grapes are hand-harvested from select vineyard parcels across Alsace, where clay-limestone and marl soils provide ideal conditions for Gewurztraminer. After gentle pressing, the juice is fermented at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks to preserve aromatic intensity and freshness. The wine is matured on fine lees before bottling to enhance texture and depth.
Tasting Notes
Brilliant golden-yellow in colour, this Gewurztraminer opens with an intense bouquet of rose petals, lychee, exotic fruits, and delicate spices. The palate is rich and full-bodied, with luscious tropical fruit flavours balanced by a refreshing acidity. The finish is long and elegant, leaving notes of honey, ginger, and white flowers. Food match Perfect with spicy Asian cuisine, aromatic curries, foie gras, strong cheeses such as Munster, or fruit-based desserts. Grape Gewurztraminer 100%
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
