Source-supplied bottle description

The benchmark amongst the great wines of the southern Rhône, Barbe Rac embodies M. Chapoutier's vision of excellence. Produced from vines that are almost a century old, planted on a bed of rounded pebbles, this single-vineyard cuvée showcases the full complexity of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with a single grape variety: Grenache, elevated to its purest expression. Grown using biodynamic methods, hand-sorted, and vinified and matured with meticulous care, this wine develops a full-bodied and deep palate, underpinned by great aromatic intensity. It offers notes of strawberry, chocolate, dried herbs and spices, forming a rich, balanced and generous whole. A rare wine with excellent ageing potential, perfect for special occasions.

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
