Blandy’s 10 Year Old Sercial Madeira is a refined expression of the driest style of Madeira, offering bright acidity, nutty complexity, and a long, elegant finish – a benchmark for lovers of fortified wines.

Meet the Producer

Blandy’s is one of Madeira’s most historic and respected producers, with a winemaking legacy dating back to 1811. Still family-owned and operated, the Blandy family has been instrumental in preserving traditional methods while embracing innovation, ensuring the continued excellence of Madeira wines across the globe.

Production

Crafted from the Sercial grape, grown in the cooler, higher-altitude vineyards of Madeira, this wine is aged for an average of ten years in seasoned American oak casks using the time-honoured Canteiro method. This slow oxidative ageing process in warm lodges develops the wine’s signature complexity, balancing freshness with depth and structure.

Tasting Notes

Pale amber in colour, the wine opens with aromas of toasted almonds, orange peel, and sea spray. The palate is dry and vibrant, with flavours of citrus zest, hazelnut, and a touch of caramel, all carried by a racy acidity that leads to a clean, saline finish. Food match An excellent aperitif, it pairs beautifully with salted almonds, olives, sushi, consommé, or hard cheeses such as Manchego or aged Comté. Grape Sercial 100%

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
