The nose offers aromas of forest floor, black cherries, and sour cherries together with hints of licorice, tobacco, and bitter cocoa. The bouquet is completed with balsamic notes that echo marine breezes that caress Mediterranean scrub along the coastline. The palate delivers tannins with depth accompanied by well-balanced freshness and savory notes, characteristic of the wine's place of origin. A powerful, yet simultaneously elegant, a wine that can be enjoyed immediately or can age gracefully over the years to come. The Tenuta Bocca di Lupo 2021 Cabernet Franc Arso represents a new project for this Puglia estate owned by the Antinori family of Tuscany. Cabernet Franc is a grape they have planted in various family-run estates throughout Italy, and they remain very enthusiastic with the results. Cabernet Sauvignon, they worried, might render results that are too dark and heavy in this hot region. With a mere 2,387 bottles produced, this Cabernet Franc shows the muscle and power of Puglia with exuberant fruit, peppercorn and pencil shavings. The tannins are resolved, and only at the end do you feel some of the sun-ripened and raisiny aromas that are characteristic of this part of Southern Italy. Arso is envisaged as top-shelf wine that celebrates winemaking excellence in Puglia.
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
